Talk: Artists as Emigrants

Saturday 10 March, 2-3.30pm

Dr Mandy Bentley discusses artists represented in the Britten-Pears Foundation collection including Sidney Nolan, Josef Herman, FN Souza and others, in whose work the challenges and rewards of emigration have played a significant part. While each artist’s experiences and responses are individual, their various narratives draw out fascinating themes relating to identity and the role of ‘place’.
