Commissioned by ONE, an Orchestra Network for Europe, Red & The Kingdom Of Sound is an award-winning animated adaptation of Benjamin Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. The animation imagines Britten’s orchestra as a series of fantastical realms. Red, the animation’s titular character, represents the newcomer to classical music, and the film follows his adventures in the Kingdom Of Sound.
Created by a team of seventeen staff, students and alumni of BA(Hons) Computer Animation Arts at the University for the Creative Arts, Red & The Kingdom of Sound has been shown in live synchronisation performances to over 4,500 children across Europe, and selected and shown at over forty animation festivals worldwide.
