Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra
Ever since the 1946 schools film Instruments of the Orchestra generations of children have been inspired by Britten’s much-loved classic, The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. Digital GO updates that pioneering learning resource for today’s young persons.
Featuring a specially-recorded and filmed performance of the piece from Sir Mark Elder and the Royal Northern College of Music Symphony Orchestra, and illustrations by award-winning artist Sara Fanelli, Digital GO includes: listening and music-making games; an interactive score; and engaging video interviews with the RNCM students about their chosen instruments.
Digital GO was developed by the Britten–Pears Foundation in partnership with the Royal Northern College of Music and supported using public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England. Meet the players here.
