Letter from Pears to Britten 10 December 1959, Schönenberg

Britten and Pears never had Black Friday or Cyber Monday to worry about and despite busy working schedules, they still managed to find the time to get some Christmas shopping done!

“My old honey –

… I am already longing to get home – so what shall I feel like next Friday? I am doing bits of Christmas shopping, and have already got 6 ties & a pair of cufflinks! When I get to Zürich, I shall really start!”
