To tie in with the Britten Weekend at Snape Maltings we are holding an exhibition focusing on Britten’s quartets. While he is perhaps best known for his three mature works (composed in 1941, 1945 and 1973) Britten composed dozens of quartets as a precocious child and while at the Royal College of Music. Our Archive display will draw on the wealth of manuscript material related to these pieces and trace the development of Britten’s mastery of this most elegant genre.

Tickets: included in admission charge
